Mathematics 3 A/B
Math 3 covers a wide variety of topics, focusing on learning critical skills. Included in Segment A are lessons on computation, graphs, estimation, measurement, and geometry. Third graders will experience expanded math concepts. Students will practice the functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers. Practical skills include lessons on money and telling time.
Segment B of Math 3 covers fractions, and decimals, as well as finding perimeters and areas of geometric figures and exploring probability. Students learn the need for measurement precision varies based upon the requirements of the task/situation. Standard units of time measurement enable people to interpret results or data in the same way. Some real-world problems involving joining or separating equal groups or comparison can be solved using multiplication. Culminating lessons cover constructing and reading graphs to understand data.
